FIELDBOSS 5.0 is full of new functionality and enhancements driven by existing customer requests, our consulting experts, technical advances from Microsoft, and the ever-changing field service industry.

FIELDBOSS 5.0 has over 100+ new features and functions. Here are just a few of the highlights:

FIELDBOSS & Dynamics 365 Business Central

The one you have all been waiting for…. FIELDBOSS 5.0 includes integration to Dynamics 365 Business Central, Microsoft’s accounting solution for small and mid-sized companies. The main Business Central features used in the FIELDBOSS solution can be categorized into the following five main sections, each with its own extensive functionality list.

  1. Financial Management
  2. Cash Management
  3. Invoicing and Receivables
  4. Purchasing, Inventory, and Payables
  5. Payroll and Human Resources

FIELDBOSS 5.0 integration to Business Central maintains our real-time job-costing to service, maintenance, and projects within the operations system. Dynamics 365 Business Central also has very extensive integration with Excel, Teams, the Microsoft Dataverse, and Microsoft Power Platform so that users can be more productive and self-sufficient when they use Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI.

Customer Portal

FIELDBOSS customers pride themselves on the service they provide to their customers. With the new FIELDBOSS Portal there is now another way for them to be transparent with the great work they are doing.

Our FIELDBOSS Portal can display ANY data that resides within FIELDBOSS through secure access to external contacts.

With the FIELDBOSS Portal you’ll be able to offer your customers:

Answering Service App

FIELDBOSS is excited to announce a secure way to enable answering service companies’ to access your environment. FIELDBOSS 5.0 gives your answering service provider the ability to create work orders and dispatch on-call technicians through your system.

How it works for the answering service:

  • The Answering Service App is designed with a focus on ease of use and system security. When opening up a new call, the customer service representative will be able to see account credit hold status, servicing notes, and any relevant client details.

How it works for technicians:

  • No need to work in multiple systems. Technicians will be dispatched just like they would during the regular working day! They can identify full-service history of the building and equipment with ease and update their times based on multiplier depending on when the work was provided.

How it works for your office team:

  • With both the answering service and your technician using the system as it operates day-to-day, there are no additional processes or work to be done. Just review the calls from the night before, clean up any errors and you’re good to go!

FIELDBOSS 5.0 New Features

FIELDBOSS 5.0 will be deployed in three waves. The releases are numbered, and and are expected to occur in four-week intervals starting the last week of August.

Release Features


  • Reorganized ribbon commands
  • Additional credit hold notifications in other FIELDBOSS records

Work Orders

  • The ability to copy any Quote, Work Order or Invoice.
  • New capability to create a single Work Order from multiple quotes
  • New capability to create a single Invoice from multiple Work Orders

Maintenance Contracts

  • Improved maintenance contract capabilities to track multiple scheduled category testing
  • Device specific maintenance contract service schedule improvements
  • Additional credit hold fields on Maintenance Contract invoicing views


  • Overhaul of milestone billing including trigger workflows and additional retainage functionality
  • New capabilities for issuing deposit invoices
  • New bill to completion option for progress billing phases
