We just returned from another incredible week at the AHR (Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration) Expo. Our days were hectic and busy with people coming by to learn about FIELDBOSS and they were especially blown away by our latest release.

FIELDBOSS 5.0 is a significant advancement for the HVAC, elevator, and specialty contractor industries. Our Dynamics 365 based solution is now fully integrated with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and the rest of the Microsoft Dataverse.

The main Business Central features used in the FIELDBOSS solution can be categorized into the following five main sections, each with its own extensive functionality list.

  1. Financial Management
  2. Cash Management
  3. Invoicing and Receivables
  4. Purchasing, Inventory, and Payables
  5. Payroll and Human Resources

What does this mean for contractors?

The latest FIELDBOSS release gives contractors the configurability and automation tools to better meet customer, staff, and regulatory requirements. FIELDBOSS replaces the outdated “all in one” industry software products that have major accounting functionality flaws and field service applications that just don’t cut it when it comes to managing projects.

For products that “integrate” into accounting systems, the ultimate solution is one that gives the operations staff real-time job cost visibility for all aspects of the business including repairs, maintenance, and installation. The goal is to provide contractors with the information they need to bill their customers more precisely and quickly, ensuring their bills will be paid on time.

You Don’t Need to Run Your Company Operationally Blind

Other contractor management solutions claim that they “integrate” with various accounting products but, more often than not, that means they use a basic import/export of invoices and customer account records. They don’t do full job cost or inventory tracking or the hundred plus other integration points that need integration to accurately track service, maintenance and projects. This will always result in contractors who are operationally blind.

The FIELDBOSS 5.0 integration to Business Central maintains our real-time job-costing to service, maintenance, and projects within the operations system. Dynamics 365 Business Central also has very extensive integration with Excel, Teams, the Microsoft Dataverse, and Microsoft Power Platform so that users can be more productive and self-sufficient when they use Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI.

If you are using software without a true integration, your business will suffer, your staff will suffer, and that will have a direct impact on your customer satisfaction and your profits!
