How the Platforms Differ
Short answer: FIELDBOSS’s operational data lives inside Dynamics 365 Sales and Service while the financial data lives inside Business Central as the system of record. LiftKeeper has no accounting engine underneath it and depends on an API sync to QuickBooks or a similar outside system.
LiftKeeper’s own feature page describes “customizable APIs” to “transfer data between Liftkeeper and your accounting software” — which means every invoice, payment, and job-cost figure has to cross a sync boundary before it counts as real accounting data. That’s a workable model for a small shop running one entity on QuickBooks. It’s also a gap: a sync failure or mapping error between LiftKeeper and QuickBooks is a billing-accuracy problem your controller finds out about after the fact, not before. When a FIELDBOSS technician closes a work order, it flows directly into job costing, billing, and payroll inside the same Business Central instance the business already uses for its books — no export step, no reconciliation gap to chase down at month-end.
Short answer: FIELDBOSS gives technicians a native mobile app with limited offline capability; LiftKeeper’s own site confirms mobile access is browser-based only, with no native app and no offline mode.
For a mechanic working a building with poor cell coverage — a mechanical room, a basement pit, a shaft — an internet-dependent browser session is a real operational risk: the ticket doesn’t save, the signature doesn’t capture, and the office finds out the job happened only when the mechanic is back in range. FIELDBOSS’s native app is built on the Resco mobile platform and holds up under intermittent connectivity, which matters more as a contractor’s building portfolio grows and technicians spend more of the day inside structures rather than in a truck.

Where LiftKeeper May Be the Better Fit
LiftKeeper is likely the stronger choice if:
- You’re a small elevator-only shop doing maintenance and repair work exclusively, with no modernization or installation volume on the books, and QuickBooks is your accounting system and you intend to keep it that way.
- Your field mechanics only need to check schedules, tickets, and elevator information from a browser, and a native offline mobile app isn’t a requirement for your buildings.
